(Pursuant to Section 1526 of the Real Property Tax Law Revised by L 1970 ch957) Notice is hereby given that the Assessment Roll for the Town of Lyme in the County of Jefferson for the year 2024 has been finally completed by the undersigned Assessors, and certified copy thereof filed in the office of the Town Clerk on the 1st day of July, 2024 where the same will remain open to the public for inspection until October 1st.

RE: Town Highway Barn

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Special Election will be held on July 9, 2024, regarding the proposed Town Highway Barn. The election shall be held at the Town Offices located at 12175 NYS Route 12E, Chaumont, NY 13622. The polls shall open at 12:00 pm and shall remain open for voting until 8:00 pm. The proposition to be voted on will be as follows: “Shall the Town spend a maximum of $5,260,681.00 to construct a new Highway Barn?”

Please note that voters must meet eligibility requirements in order to vote in the Special Election.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Proposed Local Law: Solar and Solar Battery Storage Law

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Local Law has been introduced before the Town Board of the Town of Lyme to address Solar Facilities and Solar Battery Storage within the Town.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing in connection with the proposed legislation will be held at the Municipal Office, located at 12175 NYS  Route  12E,  Chaumont,  New York on June 12, 2024 at 6:10 PM. An opportunity to be heard in regard thereto will then and there be given to all persons interested in this proposed legislation.

To ensure timely and efficient service we do ask, if possible, for you to make an appointment. This will ensure that no one has a long wait, and that the board and the assessors have all available documents and information prior to your arrival. Please note that residents with scheduled appointments have priority service over walk-ins. You can make an appointment by calling (315) 649-2387 by 05/23/2024. Residents participating in the grievance process are asked to enter and exit through the courtroom door. The assessment department as well as the BAR strive to help the residents maintain fair and equitable assessments.

To facilitate uninterrupted service to those residents participating in grievance day the Village/Town Offices will be closed for normal business on May 28, 2024. We will resume normal business on Wednesday May 29, 2024.

The Town of Lyme Annual Water Quality Report for 2023 has been finalized.
This report contains information regarding our drinking water, and is posted on the website at www.townoflyme.com.
Copies are also available at the Town Office, 12175 NYS Rte. 12E in Chaumont during regular business hours Monday-Thursday from 9AM-4PM.
