NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the preliminary budget for the Town of Lyme for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2025 has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk at 12175, NYS RT 12E Chaumont, NY where it is available for inspection by any interested person during normal business hours, Monday thru Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Further notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of Lyme will meet and hold a Public Hearing thereon at the Municipal Office at 6:15 p.m. Thursday November 6, 2024 and that at such hearing any such person may be heard in favor of or against any item or against any item or items therein contained. Any other business that may come before the Board will follow. Pursuant to Section 112 of the Town Law the proposed salaries of the following Town Officers are hereby specified are as follows;

The Budget Workshop Meeting scheduled for 10/30/2024 has been cancelled.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Lyme Town Board adopted the following resolution subject to permissive referendum at its Board meeting of October 9, 2024. 

A resolution to withdraw up to $320,000.00 from the Machinery Equipment Reserve Fund to purchase a 2026 Mack Granite Truck.   

            Any resident wishing to have this matter put to a referendum must submit a proper petition to the Town of Lyme Clerk within thirty (30) days of the date of publication of this notice.

JEFFERSON COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING. The Town of Lyme Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 6:30 pm at the Town of Lyme Municipal Building, 12175 Rt 12E, Chaumont, NY 13622 to hear the following:

Scott Kolb ( applicant) for Mark Robert (owner) property northeast of Selter Rd Three Mile Bay NY 13693 Tax parcels 70.05.1-63.1 and 70.05.1-63.3 for relief from Town of Lyme Subdivision Law section 520 #3.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Local law has been introduced by the Town Board of the Town of

Lyme to establish a Town Wide Twelve (12) Month Moratorium on all Mining, Quarrying, and Heavy

Industrial Operations. 

The Local Law Prohibits any Enforcement Office, the Zoning Board of Appeals, or the Planning Board

from processing, reviewing, rendering any determination, granting any variance, or approval with

respect to any Mining, Quarrying, and Heavy Industrial Operations during the duration of the

Moratorium,

The Local Law declares that t violation shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $250 and/or injunctive

relief to prohibit such activities. 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing upon the Local Law will be held at the Town Offices, 12175

NYS Route 12E, Lyme, New York on November 13, 2024, at 6:20 PM and that an opportunity to be heard in regard thereto will then and there be given to all persons.
